Gloucester party death: Five further arrests made

Five men from the Bristol area have been arrested after a 21-year-old man was killed after a party in Gloucester.

The five were arrested on suspicion of the murder of Dolton Powell from Gloucester.

Mr Powell was found seriously injured on Chase Lane, near the All Nations Community Centre, early on Sunday. He died later in hospital.

His family has paid tribute to him, describing him as "an angel" and "an inspiration to all that knew him".

The victim's mother said: "Dolton was an angel and a loving and kind boy. There is nothing he would not do to help me from the day he was born.

"I know God gave me an angel and now he has taken him back."

His father and other family members described him as "charming, understanding, righteous, hardworking and honest" and said he would be deeply missed.

All five of the arrested men, aged between 17 and 19, are in custody, but police believe there may be other suspects, some possibly injured, as a result of the events that led to his death.

Det Chief Insp Steve Porter, from Gloucestershire Constabulary, said Dolton Powell died after "sustaining an injury with a weapon". He would not confirm what the weapon was or whether it had been found.

He said police wanted to trace two Vauxhall Corsas seen leaving the All Nations Club at 03:23 BST on Sunday, and later seen arriving in the St Pauls area of Bristol.

Three other men aged 22, 21 and 19 were previously arrested on suspicion of murder.

The 19-year-old, from Bristol, was released without charge. The other two, from Gloucester, were released on bail.
