Two men arrested in Gloucester on suspicion of possessing guns

Police said a gun and two air weapons were found during a search in Matson, Gloucester

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing firearms after reports they were seen with a gun.

Armed police officers were called out to the Matson area of Gloucester at about 16:20 BST.

Following a search, two men were arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and two suspected air weapons were seized.

The men, aged in their 30s and from Gloucester, remain in police custody.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said there had been a large police presence in Matson as officers responded to the incident.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and for anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which could help the investigation.
