Gloucester: Attempted murder arrest after girl, 16, stabbed

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 16-year-old girl was injured in a suspected stabbing.

Gloucester Police were called to an address in Kingsway, Gloucester, shortly after 20:00 GMT on Sunday.

The victim is being treated in hospital, but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A 17-year-old boy, who initially fled the area, is in police custody after being arrested at a different address.

Gloucestershire Police said members of the public helped at the scene.

The force added: "There will be a visible police presence in the area while house-to-house and other enquiries take place throughout the day.

"Officers have said they are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the incident."
