Gloucester man, 44, dies after car mounts pavement

Finlay Road in Gloucester was closed and then reopened Friday afternoon

A 44-year-old man has died after a car mounted a pavement and hit him.

Emergency services were called to Finlay Road, Gloucester at around 08:25 GMT on Friday after a Mini Countryman collided with him.

The pedestrian was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he was treated for serious head injuries but he died the same day, officers said.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.

Gloucestershire Police closed Finlay Road for most of the day to conduct investigations and then reopened it at 16:30 GMT.

The force has appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
