New animal rescue vehicle introduced in Hampshire

Hampshire Fire and Rescue (HFRS) said it dealt with at least one trapped animal incident a week were people's safety was endangered.

A new specialist vehicle is being introduced to deal with animal rescues in northern Hampshire.

The Basingstoke-based appliance can deal with incidents such as road accidents involving livestock.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue (HFRS) said it dealt with at least one trapped animal a week where people's safety was endangered.

HFRS's Jim Green said the vehicle would allow them to deal with animal incidents "humanely and safely".
