Dancing horses and laughing donkeys were among the finalists in the New Forest Park Authority's 2014 summer photo competition.
The contest attracted 140 entries between 23 July and 6 August, with entrants ranging from professional photographers to amateurs with camera phones.
The winning entry shows two prancing ponies, snapped by Alan Sutton, from Pennington, who moved to the forest in 2008 for its wildlife and landscapes.
The New Forest ponies that roam free in the park were a popular theme among photographers, such as in "Happy Chappy" by Jenna Giles-Bodilly.
More than 1,400 votes were cast to choose the winner and three runners-up. Winner Alan Sutton also took this photo of marbled white butterflies on knapweed.
Local businesses donated prizes for the contest, which included days out in the forest.
