A pedestrian is in a critical condition after falling off a bridge and onto a ring road during a two-vehicle collision in Basingstoke.

Police said a man in his 30s was on Worting Road when two cars crashed just after 09:30 BST on Wednesday.

The crash, between a red Vauxhall Astra and a silver Vauxhall Vectra, caused the man to fall onto the A340 Ringway West, the force added.

The drivers were believed to be uninjured.

The incident led to long delays and road closures in the area. Police are appealing for witnesses.
