The family of a woman have paid tribute to "such a special daughter, auntie, and sister".

The body of 37-year-old Joanna Derkacz was found at an address in Waterlooville on 28th December 2023.

Ms Derkacz's sister has said: "We will love you always sweet angel", adding that "you didn't deserve this."

A 36-year-old man, who was treated for arm injuries and subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody.

Police from Hampshire Constabulary were called at 11:30 GMT to a report that the body of a 37-year-old woman had been located inside a house in Nevinson Way, Waterlooville.

A police investigation into what happened is ongoing.

Ms Derkacz's sister said that she would "fight for the justice till my last breath".

Due to previous police contact in the weeks before Joanna's death, Hampshire Constabulary have referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), who now are conducting an independent investigation into the prior police contact.
