More than two hundred homes and a school have been left without water after a fault at the supply works.

Southern Water has apologised to customers in Winchester who are experiencing either low pressure or no water due to a technical failure at the Easton Water site.

Kings School Winchester has said it will be closed on Thursday due to the supply issue.

About 220 homes have been left without water in the west of the city.

Southern Water said engineers "encountered a further issue where one of the boosters that pumps water around the network has failed".

The statement added: "We're very sorry for the impact this is causing and our teams are working to fix this as quickly as possible."
