Isle of Wight Red Jet to be replaced after weekend suspension

Red Funnel has apologised for the disruption after Red Jet services were suspended

An alternative service is set to replace high-speed passenger ferries across the Solent from Monday.

Red Funnel said its Red Jet services to and from the Isle of Wight would remain suspended following "an unexpected technical issue" over the weekend.

The replacement service, which is due to begin at 07:00 GMT on Monday, will extend crossing times to 50 minutes.

Isle of Wight MP, Bob Seely, took to social media to say the move was "simply not good enough".

The company has apologised for any inconvenience caused and urged passengers to check online, external before travelling.
