Redditch postman's rape attempt sentence to be assessed

  • Published

The body responsible for assessing potential miscarriages of justice has agreed to review the case of a jailed Worcestershire postman.

Victor Nealon, from Redditch, was convicted in 1997 for attempting to rape a woman in the town.

He has always denied the charge and said he was at home when the young woman celebrating her birthday was attacked on a roundabout in the town.

His legal team said it had fresh DNA evidence that could clear him.

The Criminal Cases Review Commission has agreed to look into his case.
