A £10,000 lottery grant has been awarded to a hospital radio service.
Hereford Hospital Radio, at the County Hospital, said it would use the money to extend the station's output by broadcasting many local events live.
The grant was given to the charity, which has more than 40 members, by the Big Lottery Fund.
Radio chairman Chris Hughes said he was delighted to have been successful in the first-ever application to the lottery.
He said: "We are excited that over the coming months we can be broadcasting from events around the county."
The hospital radio service broadcasts to people at the hospital and to former patients at home via the internet and an iPhone app.
The charity said the Wye Valley NHS Trust was also working with the station to strengthen its output.
