Three people, including a four-year-old boy, have been killed in a crash in Worcestershire.
Police say that three others were also injured in the collision involving two cars near the Duke William pub in Callow Hill.
It happened on Wednesday evening at about 22:15 BST on the A456.
Two women, aged 32 and 28, and the boy, who had all been travelling in a Ford Focus, were confirmed dead at the scene, West Mercia Police said.
Three others travelling in an Audi were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police say the road was likely to remain closed for the next two days at the junction with the Royal Forester Country Inn and Lye Head Road.
Staff at the Duke William pub said it would also remain closed until further notice.
'Devastating' news
In a tribute they added their thoughts were "with everyone connected to the collision that happened last night".
Local residents said they were "devastated" by the news, particularly given the suggestion members of a young family were involved.
One described the air ambulance circling, but not landing as it became clear those most seriously injured had died.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said it quickly became clear to crews who attended the scene that those in the first car could not be saved.
"A woman and two children from the second car were treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment," a spokeswoman added.
Insp Stephanie Arrowsmith, from West Mercia Police, said: "First and foremost our thoughts are with the loved ones of the people who died in the collision.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information or dashcam footage which may help with the investigation to call the investigating officers."
