Woman driver dies in Ross on Wye car crash with lorry

A woman driving a car died following a crash between her vehicle and a lorry in Herefordshire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to the A4137 in Glewstone, Ross on Wye at 12:44 BST on Wednesday.

Crews found the driver in a critical condition, receiving first aid from bystanders.

"It sadly became apparent nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead at the scene," a spokesperson said.

Two men from the lorry were assessed by medics and discharged at the roadside.

West Mercia Police said the route reopened to traffic by about 19:00 BST.
