The chief executive of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has left to take up a post at a neighbouring trust.
Andrew North is to be chief executive of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust after nine years in his former role.
Trust director of finance and performance Karen Jackson will take over his role in an acting position.
Mr North said he was proud he had been part of a team that "made it work".
He said: "If we hadn't done some of the things we have done - such as merger or the move to foundation status - we could have seen some of our services collapse.
"We would not have the reputation we now have - which is that if we say we will deliver something we deliver it."
Overseen developments
Before joining the trust in 2001 he led the previous trust North East Lincolnshire NHS Trust.
Since 2001 the trust has seen the number of inpatients increase by 7.72%.
According to the trust the average length of stay for patients has been reduced from 5.5days to 4.6 days for non-elective patients and from 3.6 to three days for elective patients, during this time.
Mr North has also overseen developments at all three sites including A&E and family services at both Grimsby and Scunthorpe and the development of the Acquired Brain Injury Unit at Goole.
