A new chief executive has been appointed for Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Karen Jackson, director of finance and performance since August 2008, has been carrying out the role of acting chief executive for more than a month.

The previous chief executive, Andrew North, left in July to become chief executive of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

Ms Jackson has worked in the NHS since 1993.

Chairman of the Trust, Jim Whittingham, said Ms Jackson was "equipped to lead the Trust in addressing current and future challenges."
