Rugby league player Brett Seymour is in hospital after being involved in a car crash, Hull FC have confirmed.

Staff at the Super League club rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary, where the Australian scrum-half is recovering following the accident on Sunday night.

"The only information we have is that he has been involved in a traffic accident," said Matt Holden, media manager at Hull FC.

The 28-year-old's injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The club confirmed the player would be placed on leave with immediate effect.
