Landmarks across the city, such as Holy Trinity Church, will be illuminated with special LED lights to create what are described as "sculptures in the sky".

The former market square outside Holy Trinity Church will be expanded and lead to a new "sculptural bridge" over the A63 at Castle Street

Humber Street in the heart of the city's old fruit market will have its cobbles restored and a web of lights strung across the road.

New street-level fountains will be installed in Queen Victoria Square. Plans have also been announced to move the Wilberforce Monument to the square

At night lights will be projected onto the city's Maritime Museum and the Hull City Hall concert venue.

Queens Gardens will be returned to its original 1920s layout with a new performance stage named after Mick Ronson, Hull-born guitarist in David Bowie's Spiders from Mars band.
