A Great Britain figure skater has been sent to a young offenders' institution for three years after admitting sexually abusing five girls from Hull.

Jamie Whiteman, 20, pleaded guilty to 16 offences, including sexual activity with a child under 13, making indecent images and voyeurism.

Whiteman, of Woodhead Drive, Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire, was sentenced at Hull Crown Court.

He admitted the offences at a hearing last month.

Whitehead competed for the Great Britain team at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Milan in 2013.

He also won a silver medal at the 2013 British Figure Skating Championships.
