Artworks for Hull's Alexandra Dock pathway

Six pieces of art on the theme of Hull's maritime past have been unveiled on a new pathway around Alexandra Dock.

The dock is home to a £350m project to produce offshore wind turbine blades that is due to be fully operational in 2017.

The route used to run along the Humber but has been diverted away from the river and around the dock.

The change is to allow turbine components to be moved between the manufacturing plant and a new quay.

The new route will have viewing points to look over the new wind turbine production area and information boards, said Associated British Ports (ABP).

Siemens and ABP are investing in Green Port Hull at the city's Alexandra Dock

Five of the artworks were designed and created by Hull School of Art and Design students.

A sixth piece has been created by professional sculptor Jason Heppenstall.

The £100,000 trail has been commissioned by ABP and Hull City Council.

The route forms part of the Trans-Pennine Trail from Southport to Hornsea.
