The closure is causing disruption
Part of the A63 into Hull was closed when a crane struck two bridges, leading to severe traffic disruption.
The carriageway was closed between South Cave and Brough when the bridge was hit at about 14:00 GMT.
Highways England said, external inspections of the bridge had now been completed and the road fully reopened at about 18:00 GMT.
It said it expected delays in the area to ease after the closure led to long tailbacks for much of the afternoon.
Earlier, commuter Tom Catchpole tweeted, external: "An hour and ten minutes to get home from Howden. Traffic is manic everywhere. Scary how much Hull depends on the A63. Fog, rain and country roads are not a good combination."
