Goole Leisure Centre to close until 2025 for £17m revamp

Goole Leisure Centre is to close until 2025 under plans to transform it into a multi-purpose community hub.
The £17.9m project would see a new six-lane bowling alley built at the site in addition to an upgraded gym and sensory area, East Riding Council said.
The centre will shut at 18:00 GMT on 17 December and is scheduled to reopen in two years when work is completed.
Councillor Nick Coultish said the scheme was "very exciting for the town" and the wait would "be worth it".
The project has been partially funded by £3.3m from the Goole Town Deal.
The plan includes moving Goole Library into the new hub, the creation of a new "health suite" and the building of a new learner pool.
Goole Museum will remain in its Carlisle Street location.
Mr Coultish said: "We recognise the inconvenience that will be caused by the lengthy closure of East Riding Leisure Goole, but we promise that the wait will be worth it.
"A whole range of alternative arrangements will be in place during the closure period. We will also communicate with residents and customers throughout the process."
