Those responsible for graffiti, littering and fly-tipping in Hull could face bigger fines next year.
A Hull City Council proposal may see fly-tipping penalties rise from a maximum of £400 to a £1,000 limit.
Littering fines would go up from a £100 maximum to a £150 limit, with graffiti rising from a maximum of £100 to a £500 limit.
It follows new government rules set in July allowing local authorities to increase environmental fixed penalties.
The plan, set to be considered by Hull City Council's cabinet on Monday, could come into effect from 1 January.
Councillor Julia Conner, the council's portfolio holder for environment, said: "We are determined to make sure that Hull is a clean place to live for local people.
"These new larger fines, if agreed, will go far to put people off from harming Hull's open spaces and ensure that those who continue to offend face tougher consequences."
