Plans have been unveiled for a data centre to be built in North Lincolnshire.

The large building would be constructed in a field just south of the A160 Habrough Roundabout in South Killingholme.

Its developers claim it could create up to 370 full time jobs.

As well as the data centre, the complex would include other offices, generators, an electricity sub-station, car parking and security fencing.

Plans also include a shared footpath and cycleway on Habrough Road to link into the existing shared A160 cycleway.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service said developers Humber Tech Park Limited had submitted a preliminary environmental impact assessment screening request to North Lincolnshire Council.

The document suggests the company will apply for an outline application to get permission for the overall scheme, before precise details are sorted at a later stage.

The data centre buildings will have a maximum height of 50ft (15m), including gantry and flues.

The proposed horticultural greenhouse would be entirely heated by the excess heat of the data centre.

If it goes ahead would be expected to take three years to build.
