Nineteen of the 57 Hull City Council seats are up for election this year

People in Hull will head to the polling station in May to vote in elections for the city council.

As well as the council elections, a ballot will be held to elect a Police and Crime Commissioner for the Humberside force.

Voting takes place on 2 May, with the count taking place throughout the day on 3 May.

Anyone planning to vote in person at a polling station must bring an approved form of photo ID.

Hull City Council

There will be voting in all wards, except Central and Pickering.

The Liberal Democrats hold power with 32 councillors to Labour's 25.

Nineteen of the 57 seats are up for election this year.

Police and Crime Commissioner election

In the Humberside force area, the three candidates are:

  • Jonathan Evison - Conservatives

  • Bob Morgan - Liberal Democrats

  • Simon O'Rourke - Labour and Co-operative Party
