Sean Wilkes police restraint death: Fiancee pays tribute

The fiancee of a man who died after being restrained by Kent Police officers has said he was the best thing that had ever happened to her.

Alisha Rogers paid tribute to Sean Wilkes, 21, saying she and their daughter Millie-Mae missed him daily.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is probing Mr Wilkes' death, after a party in Folkestone on 6 July.

"Sean was a loving Dad and fiance," said Ms Rogers, in a statement issued by the commission.

"He was the best thing that happened to me in my life.

Called to disturbance

"Me and Millie-Mae were the best thing in Sean's life - he would do anything for us too."

Four police officers were involved in restraining Mr Wilkes after they were called to a disturbance in Richmond Street.

He had been initially restrained by members of the public before the first two officers on the scene took over.

They were later joined by two more officers.

Mr Wilkes then became unwell and died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive in discovering the cause of his death.
