The opening of a £2bn theme park in Kent has been delayed by nearly a year.

Developers behind the planned Paramount Pictures entertainment resort on the Swanscombe Peninsula, near Dartford, said the revised opening date was Easter 2020.

Fenlon Dunphy, director at London Resort Company Holdings, said the new date was "achievable and realistic".

The company held a series of public consultation events in July, but still has to submit a planning application.

It said they were attended by more than 2,000 people and were the first stage of a year-long consultation process.

Mr Dunphy added that postponing the opening would ensure "visitors get the experience they deserve".
