Celebrating footballing legend Sir Stanley Matthews
Mention Sir Stanley Matthews and you might think of the FA Cup final in 1953 when he paved the way for Blackpool's last-minute victory against Bolton Wanderers.
Most famous for playing for Stoke City and the Seasiders, he also represented his country 54 times.
Fifty years ago when Stan was the man was at Bloomfield Road, a South African businessman asked him to make the long trip to Sowetto, and what began as a coaching job to supplement his £10 a week summer wage at Blackpool turned into a commitment that would last a quarter of a century.
To mark what would have been his 96th birthday, BBC Inside Out North West celebrates the wizard of the dribble.
