Kirkham stream baby death: Pram girl identified

The baby was found in a stream off Carr Lane in Kirkham

Detectives investigating the death of a baby boy whose body was discovered in a Lancashire stream have identified a teenage girl seen with a pram nearby.

The child was discovered in Spen Brook, off Carr Lane in Kirkham, at about 14:00 BST on 1 October.

Police had appealed for a girl seen pushing a pram near the stream a few days earlier to come forward.

A police spokeswoman said the girl had been traced and ruled out of the inquiry.

Police officers spoke to more than 100 people over the weekend - leafleting people in Kirkham town centre and doing a road check in Carr Lane.
