Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering the teenager

A teenager who died in a knife attack in Lancashire has been named as 18-year-old Jonjo Highton.

Jonjo, from Preston, was found with serious injuries in the city's St Stephen's Road, at about 23:20 BST on Saturday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Post-mortem tests showed he suffered a wound to the neck caused by a blade.

A 19-year-old man and two 21-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The men, all from Preston, remain in police custody.

Det Supt Eddie Thistlethwaite, of Lancashire Constabulary, said: "This young man suffered a brutal attack. I believe there were a number of people involved and we are working hard to identify the offenders.

"I would appeal for anyone with any information, however unimportant they feel it may be, to get in touch with us."
