Plans for a £40m refurbishment of a shopping centre have been withdrawn, Preston City Council has confirmed.
The proposals for the Fishergate Centre had included a three-storey extension, as well as a cinema and restaurant complex.
The redundant TJ Hughes store was set to be replaced with retail units.
The project had been intended to be on the agenda at a meeting on Thursday, where it had been recommended for refusal by planning officers.
