A man is in a critical condition after a fight among 15 football fans outside a bar in Blackpool, police have said.
Officers found the victim, in his 50s, with a serious head injury on the Promenade following the Blackpool v Burnley football match at about 19:00 GMT on Saturday.
They administered CPR before he was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding and remains in custody.
Lancashire Police said there was currently "no suggestion" that the victim was specifically targeted in the fight.
"An investigation has now been launched and we are working with both Blackpool and Burnley football clubs to establish who else was involved in the incident and what exactly occurred," a police representative said.
Det Con Insp Tracey McMurdo added: "We are taking this incident extremely seriously and will do everything in our power to identify anybody who may have been involved.
"This type of violence is simply not acceptable on the streets of Lancashire."
