Murder charge after man found dead in Blackburn flat, police say

A 34-year-old has been charged with the murder of a man who was discovered fatally injured in a flat.

David Read, 50, was found by Lancashire Police in Leamington Road, Blackburn, on Wednesday. A post-mortem examination revealed he died from multiple injuries, officers said..

Mohammed Ali Khan, of Preston New Road, Blackburn, has now been charged with Mr Read's murder, police said.

Mr Khan is due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

In a tribute, Mr Read's family said: "David was a lovely caring man and had a strong bond with his parents.

"He was known as the gentle giant and will be sadly missed by his family and friends."
