A man who disappeared two weeks ago has still not been found despite "extensive searches" across open land using helicopters and drones, police have said.

Brian Blakeman, aged 77, went missing from Skelmersdale in Lancashire on 5 December.

Lancashire Police said a 14 sq km (5.4 mile) area around the town had been searched by specially-trained officers.

He was wearing a blue fleece with an Everton FC badge when he went missing.

Underwater search teams, mountain rescue and emergency services have helped the police in their search.

A spokesman for the force said officers were reviewing "extensive CCTV and ring doorbell footage" and following-up reported sightings and information from the public.

"Brian's family continue to be supported and kept informed about all aspects of the search", he added.
