Murder arrest after fatal shooting outside gym

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal shooting outside a gym.

The attacker fled on a bike after Lenny Scott was shot in Peel Road, Skelmersdale, on Thursday evening, Lancashire Police said.

The 33-year-old was taken to hospital where he later died.

A 25-year-old man, from Kensington in Liverpool, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.

Police said the suspect, who was wearing black clothing with an orange high-vis jacket, rode off on a bike, thought to be an e-bike or a scrambler bike.

Officers appealed for anyone who had seen abandoned bikes in the area to contact them.
