Hare coursing sees dogs used to chase and kill hare

Two men are due to appear in court as part of an investigation into hare coursing.

Lancashire Police stopped a silver Honda on Sandy Way in Rufford after farmers reported suspicious activity on Thursday.

Following a search, officers found items including thermal imaging scopes, a hunting whistle and trackers.

The men, from Ireland, aged 27 and 53, have been summonsed to attend court at a date yet to be arranged.

Hare coursing is an illegal activity where dogs are used to chase and kill hare.

The items and the vehicle have been seized under the Hunting Act as the investigation continues, police said.
