A post mortem examination established Mr Inskip died of a head injury

Police investigating a man's death are appealing for anyone who spoke to him hours before he was found with serious injuries at his home to come forward.

Paul Inskip, 55, died in hospital on Saturday, a week after he was found at his house on Harley Street in Burnley, Lancashire Police said.

A post-mortem examination concluded he died of a head injury.

Police said his death was "being treated as a potential homicide".

A woman, aged in her 40s, and the two men, in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of assault had since been bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers were called to Mr Inskip's home at about 15:20 GMT on 2 March.

Detectives said they were still trying to understand how Mr Inskip came by his injury and were appealing specifically for anyone who saw or spoke to him on 1 March or on the morning of 2 March to get in touch.

The force said he may have appeared confused or disorientated.

They appealed for any motorists with dashcam who may have been in the area during that time, specifically on Harley Street, Ainslie Street, Pink Street and Woodbine Road, to come forward.

Det Ch Insp Tracey McMurdo said: "While we still don't know how Paul came by his injury, we are doing all we can to try and establish this so we can give them some answers.

"I would appeal to anyone who saw or spoke to Paul on that Friday or Saturday to come and speak to us so we can try to piece together what happened to him."
