Kieran Butterworth died from multiple chest wounds

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a teenage boy, West Yorkshire Police have said.

Kieran Lee Butterworth, 17, was found on Back Seaforth Avenue, Harehills, before being taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he died.

A post-mortem examination found the teenager died from multiple stab wounds to his chest following the incident on Tuesday.

The arrested man is from Woodhouse in Leeds according to police.

The area around Back Seaforth Avenue and Foundry Approach remained cordoned off on Wednesday while examinations of the scene continued.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who is yet to come forward to contact them.
