The landmark 1930s venue has been derelict since closing in 2000.

Two competing schemes for redevelopment of a historic former theatre and cinema have gone on show.

Plans for the Bradford Odeon put forward by Bradford One and Bradford Live are on view. Both schemes hope to build a live music venue.

The landmark 1930s venue, that played host to acts including The Beatles, has been derelict since closing in 2000.

Bradford Council is expected to make a final decision on the building's future in November.

The exhibition is being held in the City Park pavilion building until 19:00 BST.

Bought for £1

Bradford One hope to redevelop the former Odeon into a multi-purpose music and live event venue.

In its plans, restaurants and bars surround the auditorium and a new development with student accommodation for just over 300 students is to be built at the rear of the building.

Bradford Live plant to a run live music venue and convert the building back to its original auditorium size holding up to 4,000 people.

The former Odeon building was bought in 2003 by regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, which later entered into a development agreement with Langtree Artisan.

That agreement, which would have seen the demolition of the building, was scrapped in September 2012 after the Homes and Community Agency took over the Odeon site following the abolition of Yorkshire Forward.

The building was then bought for £1 by Bradford Council in November.
