Attempted murder charges over Huddersfield street attack

A total of three men have now been charged with attempted murder after a street attack on a man in Huddersfield.

The victim, in his 20s, suffered life-changing injuries to his leg after being attacked on Spinners Close on 18 January.

Liam Whitaker, 38, and Liam Hanbury, 39, both from Bradford, appeared before magistrates in Leeds earlier.

Max Charles Lambert, 33, of Romanby Shaw, Bradford, appeared in court on Monday.

Mr Whitaker, of Poplarwood Gardens, Bradford, and Mr Hanbury, of Nab Lane, Shipley, are also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

They were remanded in custody by magistrates and are due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 23 February.

At his appearance in court earlier this week, Mr Lambert was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 21 February.

He is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

A fourth man, 34, who was arrested in connection with the attack has been released on bail, according to West Yorkshire Police.
