Pontefract: Man punched in street fight then hit by car dies

A man who was hit by a car after a fight on a street in West Yorkshire has died, police have confirmed.
Luke Thompson, 25, was struck by a black Ford Fiesta on the A639 Front Street in Pontefract and was found at about 04:30 GMT on Sunday.
West Yorkshire Police said he ended up in the road after a reported fight and have appealed for witnesses.
Four men have been arrested in relation to the incident and all have been bailed.
The investigation is now being led by the homicide and major enquiry team.
Two of the men, aged 26 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and the other two, aged 17 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The Fiesta was travelling with a white Seat Ibiza away from the town centre when the man was struck, the force said.
Det Ch Insp James Entwistle, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who can assist with our enquiries.
"A young man has now died from his injuries and we need to understand what happened."
