Heavy rain and flooding disrupts Yorkshire train services
- Published
Passengers suffered a morning of train cancellations and delays after rain flooded railway lines in parts of North and West Yorkshire National Rail said.
Flooding at Kirkstall Forge near Leeds meant lines were blocked, with train services between Leeds and Shipley, and Leeds and Ilkley, cancelled or delayed.
Routes between Skipton and Leeds, and also to Bradford Forster Square and Carlisle, were unable to run.
Ilkley services were unable to run between Leeds and Guiseley.
National Rail said the lines had reopened by about 14:30 GMT, but passengers were being warned to expect delays of about 30 minutes until about 16:15 GMT.
The problems came after train services were affected by damage to overhead rail lines between Peterborough and Grantham, affecting services between Leeds and London.
