Transformation plans for derelict Bradford warehouse building

A derelict warehouse in Bradford could be transformed into a new retail space if plans for the site are approved.
The warehouse at the former Providence Mill in Goitside has been in ruins for more than a decade, with its roof collapsed and windows missing.
But an application to refurbish the site, creating a large retail space and offices, has now been submitted to Bradford Council.
The application said the property was "desperately in need of repair".
Much of the site was wrecked by fire in June 2013, with other parts of the derelict mill later pulled down for safety reasons.
The new plans for the four-storey site, in Vincent Street, off Sunbridge Road, in the Goitside Conservation Area, were described in the application as "exciting and stimulating".
It added that the ground floor would be used for retail, with the first, second and third floors converted to office space.
A total of 10 full-time jobs would be created by the project, according to the application due to go before councillors next month.
The planning application stated: "The brief is to keep the internal arrangement of the existing property and externally improve the façade to bring the building back to use.
"It is felt that the change of use and changes to front elevation will tie seamlessly with others in the area and would positively enhance the current street scene."
It continued: "With the present economic climate and with the property desperately in need of repair, it is felt the new proposal would benefit the local community through job creation and an offer of more closely located local services - giving an added vibrancy to the area.
"We trust, based on the above, that the proposal will be deemed as exciting and stimulating for the local and wider community and can be supported by the Local Planning Authority."
A decision on the application is expected in March.
