Pedestrian hit by HGV on A1(M) fled to woods

The A1(M) was closed between J42 and J41

A pedestrian was hit by a HGV before fleeing into nearby woods, police have said.

The A1(M) at Ferrybridge northbound was closed between junction 41 and 42 for several hours on Friday night while officers looked for the man.

He was later found in the woods and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police want to speak to witnesses who may have seen the man on the hard shoulder.
