Police have arrested a man after a baby suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash involving a van and taxi.

A Vauxhall Vivaro van and a Toyota Auris taxi were involved in the head-on collision on the A6120 Ring Road just before 17:00 GMT on Monday.

Two women and a four-month-old boy who were in the taxi were taken to hospital, West Yorkshire Police said.

The van driver also went to hospital and was held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

West Yorkshire Police said a full road closure was put in place at the scene of the crash "while emergency services managed the incident".

Anyone with information about the collision, which happened between Calverley and Rodley, is urged to contact West Yorkshire Police.
