West Yorkshire: Fatal crash on M62 closes motorway eastbound
- Published
Part of a busy motorway has been shut as police are investigating a fatal crash.
Emergency services went to the M62 in West Yorkshire at about 03:30 GMT on Saturday after reports of a collision between an Audi A3 and a Renault HGV.
Officers said the white Audi had been travelling against the flow of traffic on the eastbound carriageway prior to the crash.
The driver, a man in his 30s, died at the scene, a force spokesperson said.
A road closure near junction 29 for Lofthouse is expected to remain in place for several hours, National Highways said.
Police have urged anyone with information or dashcam footage about the collision to come forward.
