Artisan markets, a tipi bar and a giant screen showing the summer's biggest sporting moments will be hosted at a city's newest events space.
City Square in Leeds has been transformed into a pedestrianised area as part of a £3.5m plan which has now been completed, the council confirmed.
Work has been ongoing since September 2022 which led to roads around the railway station being closed.
The square will host events including music performances and games from June.
The new big screen, part-funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will show sporting events including Wimbledon, the Olympics and the Tour de France, the council said.
Councillor Helen Hayden, executive member for infrastructure and sustainable development, said Leeds City Council set out to "transform" the area into a "modern, welcoming, pedestrian-friendly gateway to the city where people could come together and enjoy the best of Leeds".
"This summer, we will see all that work come to fruition, when the square welcomes a programme of events for all ages and we take another huge step toward a cleaner, greener and more sustainable city centre."
The tipi, run by brand Thor's, as well as the artisan market, are at no cost to the council. a spokesperson added.
Other events scheduled for City Square over the coming year include the installation of artwork, the Yorkshire Sustainability Festival as well as Light Night Leeds and Christmas events.
