Online questionnaire on Leicestershire council cutbacks

Residents in Leicestershire are being urged to suggest where the county council should make £90m in cuts over the next five years.

The county council has launched an online questionnaire so people can suggest the degree of savings to be made from different services.

The Conservative-run county council estimated it would have to save more than £90m over the next five years.

The deadline for responses is 6 December.

Council leader David Parsons said: "We have always been honest about the scale of the budget problems facing us and we want the public to help guide our difficult decisions."

The questionnaire will also ask whether people prefer the council's proposed council tax freeze or if they want more services and a higher council tax.
