Snow-hit flights diverted to East Midlands Airport

East Midlands Airport, which has been unaffected by snow over the past few days, has taken more than 30 diverted flights from elsewhere in the UK.

On Saturday, 27 scheduled for Gatwick, Birmingham, Heathrow and Manchester airports landed at East Midlands.

Five flights were diverted to the Castle Donington airport on Friday.

A spokeswoman said it was operating as normal and any delays were due to planes being snowbound at destinations.

About 130,000 passengers are expected to use East Midlands Airport over the festive period.
