Fossil find named to honour Sir David Attenborough
A fossil - believed to be 430 million years old - has been discovered and named in honour of Sir David Attenborough.
Scientists, led by the University of Leicester, made the discovery in volcanic ash deposits in Herefordshire and named it after Sir David, who grew up on the university campus.
The fossil has been determined as an ancient crustacean new to science - a distant relative of lobsters, shrimps and crabs.
